2026-2027 Season Information (NOTE: Registration opens on June 8th, 2026)
The Edmonton Youth Basketball Association (EYBA) division offers competitive play for boys’ and girls’ teams, following the 2024-2025 age guidelines:
- 11U: Born in 2016-2017 (4v4 games)
- 13U: Born in 2014-2015
- 15U: Born in 2012-2013
- 18U: Born in 2009, 2010, 2011
Important Information Regarding Age/Division
- Age Policy: EYBA does not allow over-aged players in any division. Players cannot play down an age group, regardless of how close their birthday is to the cut-off, except for those with severe medical/physical disabilities, pending SBA and EYBA approval. Players can move up to an older division based on SBA and division/team availability. Priority is given to players within the exact age group of their registered team/division
Program Details
- Practice Schedule: Teams practice 1-1.5 hours one evening per week in Sherwood Park and area gyms.
- Game Schedule: Games are held in Edmonton and surrounding areas on Saturdays, with occasional Friday evening games.
- Season Structure: The season includes a Seeding Round, 2nd Round, Main Round, and Playoff Round, running from mid-late September to the end of February or early March, depending on playoff progression.

- Start-Up Dates for SBA Teams Competing in EYBA:
- Practices Start: Mid-September
- First Games: Late September or early October
- 13U, 15U EYBA Teams will be determined starting with ALL players attending the below dates/times (Please try to bring your own basketball for the evaluations):
- 13U Girls -- Monday, August 24th & Wednesday, August 26th 6:30-8pm
- 13U Boys -- Tuesday, August 25th & Thursday, August 27th 6:30-8pm
- 13U/15U EYBA - from the above dates, you may be asked to attend the following further dates/times in order to determine our top seeded Tier 1, Tier 2 & Tier 3 teams (13U/15U ONLY)
- 15U Girls -- Monday, August 24th & Wednesday, August 26th 8-9:30pm
- 15U Boys -- Tuesday, August 25th & Thursday, August 27th 8-9:30pm
- Remaining Evaluations for 11U/13U/15U (Please try to bring your own basketball for the evaluations) - Saturday, Aug. 29th as follows:
- 11U Boys Group 1 -- TBD
- 11U Boys Group 2 -- TBD
- 11U Girls -- TBD
- 13U Boys -- TBD
- 13U Girls -- TBD
- 15U Boys -- TBD

ALL ABOVE TRYOUTS/EVALUATIONS BEING HELD AT THE EYBA CENTRE (7111 56 Avenue, NW, Edmonton, AB, T6B 3L2)
EYBA Pre-season Mini Tournament: Fri./Sat., Sept. 11th-12th (Tier 1 and Tier 2 only) - dates may change, to be determined by EYBA later in August. SBA to determine if our teams attend this or not.
- First League Games: October (Tuesdays for boys, Wednesdays for girls - NOTE: These days may be differ and that is to be determined by EYBA)
Fees for 2026-27
- 11U: $650 (includes a keeper uniform)
- 13U: $650 (includes a keeper uniform)
- 15U: $650 (includes a keeper uniform)
- 18U Fall Season: $370 (late Sept. to mid-November, no playoffs) (loaner jersey must be returned)
- 18U Winter Season: $330 (Jan. to late Feb. or early Mar., playoffs included, registration opens mid-November) (loaner jersey must be returned)
Additional Information for 18U Division
- Season #1 (Fall): Late September to mid-November (8-9 games)
- Season #2 (Winter -Boys): January to late February or early March (7-9 games including playoffs)
- Season #2 (Winter -Girls): January to late February or early March 3X3 only.
18U players on senior varsity high school teams are not eligible to play community basketball due to ASAA rulings. Junior varsity players can play, but often opt out due to conflicting schedules.
Payment Information
- Payment Methods: Credit card payments are accepted, with an option for a payment plan. If using funding from KidSport or JumpStart, the ID number will be required at registration.
- Registration Deadline: Open until the end of August or until capacity is reached due to participant numbers or coach availability. Registrations are accepted online only.
